cc 2.1

In the article “Iran May Be Within30 Days Of Nuclear Weapon” by USA TODAY’S Oren Dorell it is stated that Iran is less than a month away from having enough weapons grade uranium to make a nuclear weapon.

Israel has made a report that Iran is increasing its amount of nuclear centrifuges so they can enrich uranium faster. Israel also stated that if the UN didn’t take action that they would be forced to use military power to slow down Iran’s breakout time, time until capable of nuclear weapons. Even though Israel says that Iran is a month away Obama says that they are still at least a year away from having enough uranium to make a bomb.

Iran is keeping by their story that they have no interest in nuclear weapons. They are stating that they are using the uranium for nuclear fuel, even though they continue to build more enriching stations, centrifuges, and making weapons grade uranium. They have cut off inspection of two facilities suspected of researching and enriching uranium to weapon grade, which breaks the treaty they signed guidelines.

This can be connected to us trying to keep Kim Jong Un from developing intercontinental missiles capable of hitting the U.S.

current connection 1.1

In an article by The Dallas Morning News tells of a strike in Mexico over a education reform. The Mexican legislature passed a law to defy the old style political machine that is The National Teachers Union.

The Mexican teachers have decided to go on strike because of this defiance. They flooded the street blocking one of the main streets that lead to a major airport forcing people to leave their cars and rush through the streets on foot in order to catch their flights. Mexico spends more than any other industrialized nation per student yet has the lowest academic achievements.

current connection 1.2

In a recent article whose author is unknown that was published in the New York Daily News entitled "Shutdown Impact: 13 Days after the federal government closed, affects are felt across many agencies, “the author informs his reader that the shutdown has affected just about every aspect of our lives. One being education. Another one being all the national parks have shutdown except for the ones which the state they are in picked up the tab to reopen them.

Overall the affect of the government shutdown has been relatively minimal on education, but there has been some damage done like some university researchers cant apply for grants or access government databases. With out grants from the government research may come to a screeching halt. The lack of access to databases could also be catastrophic to the research that is going on at universities.

The affect on the national parks is huge the only ones that are open have to be funded by the state they are in, and even this is temporary because the states only have so much money that can be spent. Barricades have been put up at the entrances to all closed parks to keep people out. School field trips are being cancelled, veterans cant go see memorials, and vacations are being cancelled all because of a few men in Washington cant get along.

This has happened in the past. The government also shutdown back in 1995-1996 when Bill Clinton was president.

The government shutdown has had a giant affect on our lives from education to relaxation. We have had to put our lives on hold.

A Dive Into My Mind

In my English 11 class I will be writing a short story about a futuristic general that is fascinated with the medieval times so him and his troops wear modern armor styled after medieval armor. Whose name is Carlos Montoya.

The creating of the character was the easiest part because I just let my mind run wild for a whole class period. I believe that the rest of the writing assignment will be fairly easy, because of my crazy imagination.

The most difficult part of the assignment so far would have to be writing this very blog post. I foresee lots and lots of difficulty ahead. I don't normally write fiction for the reason that it normally turns into a bunch of randomness, and pointless blabbering

Carlos Montoya faces down foes with such a ferocity that is rarely seen in men who do good in this time and day. He has been known to take on foes twice his size and outnumber him four to one and still come out of the battle no worse for wear. The one man that can match him in a duel would be the mad scientist doctor Huyntinstien.

I hope you come back and read my short story once we have finished this assignment.

cc4: Rising Cost Of College

On the Minnesota Daily website in an article Threat to the American Dream by Ashley Goetz explains why college tuition rate increases are affecting the American Dream. The jump in tuition prices has been off the charts. President Obama supports $4,000 tuition credits for students who do community service every year.

Tuition over the last two decades has gone from $2,232 in the early 1990's to $10,000 today at the University of Minnesota. That is an unprecedented hike in cost of education there is no wonder why most students are up to their eyes in debt as soon as they get out of college and can not pay off that debt until they are in their 30's. This is a huge threat to the American Dream, because with out a college education a person can not get a good job so that their family can prosper.

President Obama said that he will support a $4,000 tuition credit for people who are willing to give up their time and do so community service. This is good for students about to leave high school for college, Because community service though sometimes difficult to do and to make time for is fun most of the time if they do it with their friends. This gives the young Americans hope that they just might be able to achieve their American     Dream.

Other countries in Europe are investing huge amounts of money into their college students and colleges insuring that they will succeed. Those countries have the highest populations of scientist and engineers. This should be a good enough reason for the goverment to get involved and lower the price of going to college so that the young people of America can go to college and achieve their American Dream.

The rising rate of college tuition affects me tremendously. I want to go to a great college like MIT or any of the other major tech schools but unless something is done to lower tuition cost I might have to settle for a lower end school like ITT. This is a big deal because if I went to MIT every robot design company in the country would be coming to my door to offer me a job, but if I have to go to a college like ITT I will have to go hunting a job and I might or might not find a job.

Topic Of Choice:Gun Control

In the wake of the Newtown shooting a wave of fear has swept the country in two ways. The fear of guns and gun violence causing the call for gun control, and the fear mostly from the south where guns are practically cherished is the fear of losing them due to a leader who doesn't care what the public wants.

The people calling for gun control have good reason I guess but they are being blinded from what the law would really do to us citizens who obey the laws and legally. All gun control does is give more power to the government because they don't have to worry about the citizens rising up against them if they do something that the people of the country do not like. Gun control will also give more power to the criminals who acquire the guns illegally.

CC3 Record Number of Jobs

In an article, 20 Industries With Record Numbers of Jobs by Rick Newman, Rick Newman stated that the jobs are coming back and in numbers. There is just one thing they are only in certain areas.

The entertainment business has seen huge increases in job creation to the tune of 186,000. This is a business that suffered but not as bad as others do to the fact that we Americans like our fun. This is good for all of the Americans chasing the ever more elusive American dream.

The booze industry also saw increases in jobs with 400,000. With drinking at a high breweries, wineries, distilleries, wholesalers, and retail outlets are hiring at record rates. With those whose dream is to be in the alcohol business they are going to have a better chance of realizing that dream.

The heavy wieght of the hiring groups was the healthcare area with a whooping 14.5 million jobs. Many Americans want the high pay of a doctor. With this huge jump in job creation a whole lot of people are going to be able to achieve the American dream that they chose.

In conclusion that with the job market coming back the American dream is still alive. The dream will stay alive as long as people keep chasing it. If they do not keep chasing their dream the dream will die.

book review 1

In this report I will be talking about one of my favorite series well the two books that are out at least which are Divergent and Insurgent. They are thrilling dystopian novels were a young girl Beatrice Prior and her brother Caleb must choose their fate at the age of sixteen.

One prevailing theme in the book is one person may be strong but a group is stronger. Beatrice is a strong character but when she becomes part of dauntless which is the defence faction the group becomes stronger. Beatrice herself becomes stronger to as an individual. The bonds between friends become stronger to.

The setting of the book is in Chicago after a huge war and half the city was destroyed. The setting caused transportation within the city to be a hassle so the citizens basically walked every where or took the buses. The roads where deteriorated because of lack of maintenance and the war. Buildings had fallen into the streets, and dozens of light poles lay across the streets.

While I was reading this series I kept thinking back to when I read the Hunger Games. Beatrice and Katniss are a lot alike Because they both live in a dystopian society. They both risk their lives to fight for what they think is right. Both series start out by giving background info on the characters.

I'm sad to say this ends this review of The Divergent series so far. I hope you will go and read this amazing series, and comment what you think.

CC2: gun control

According to the CNN report "In gun control debate, logic goes out the window" by Richard J. Davis President Obama has decided to move a head with his gun control measures. This report is mainly a discriptive one Mr. Davis rarely takes sides.

The article states that gun control laws are to save some lives not all and to back up this article they say that it is simular to other laws like click it or ticket or no guns on planes. I cant see how congress thinks this is enough of a reason to break the second amendment and take away our guns. The only thing these laws are gonna do is take a honest mans gun away while the criminal will still have one.

In this article it is stated that gun control is not the answer to the problem of mass shootings. This I agree with because if someone is gonna go and shoot a bunch of people they aren't gonna obtain the gun legally they are going to go to the black market.

This article gave us a non biasis view of the gun control laws. They heard from the NRA who doesnt want gun control. They also talked to the groups wanting gun control.

American Dream...

For most Americans in this day and time the American Dream is sort of a far fetched idea that only the rich can achieve, but it is not because if you work hard enough you to could achieve your American Dream. My American Dream is to own my own buissiness. Specifically my dream is to own my own robotic design and production shop.

Ever since I was little I wanted to do something with technology and computers but did not know just what I wanted to do. Only in the past couple of years have I really discovered what will bring joy to my work life, and that is to build and design robots. I want to design one that is a humaniod that is capicable of thinking independently that way the robot could be used in several diffrent areas like the military for instance instead of sending a squad of human troops you could send one robot that could take a couple rounds and keep fighting as where if a human gets hit the whole squad would have to back out and get help for the injured soldeir. Anothe implication would be in the police force for bomb dearming and stand offs. There are myriads of implications for self thinking humaniods that will make peoples lifes easier.

In conclusion my American dream is one I take pride in and will continue to work towards into my future.

CC1:2014 vette

In an article entitled, " The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray arrives with edges sharpened. " Motoramic states that in the past few years Chevy has been losing its touch with the Corvette by maybe sealing its fate by launching the Camaro.

The article states that in the last few years the styling of the Vette has been a bit repetitive. Its gotten to where sales have decreased to half of what they were in its hayday.

The Vette has become some what of a car for a man having a midlife crisis or for the elderly guy who just wants to show off a nice car. The car is meant for the younger generation not the elderly and that could be what ruins the Vette.

In hopes of bringing the sales numbers back up Chevy completely redid the interior of the car. Also they redesigned the engine and transmission. They have done some exterior work to they added a more stylish and practical tail lights that double as air intakes.

If I could afford this car it would be something I would buy and drive.

Maybe the Vette wont soon be something we think of as outdated and only seen in our history textbooks.
